Built Tough for the Toughest Jobs

For over 100 years, Herman Survivors® has been creating durable, comfortable work boots designed to survive even the harshest working conditions. Our brand promise is simple: provide hard-working professionals with tough and reliable footwear they can trust to go the distance, no matter how demanding the job.

American Made Since 1904

The Herman Survivor® story begins in 1904, when founder Herman Weiss first opened the doors to his small boot shop in central Wisconsin. As a second generation German immigrant, Herman valued dedicated craftsmanship and making products designed to last.

He originally focused on fashioning sturdy work boots for the local farming and lumber communities. However, it quickly became apparent that Herman’s boots were up for even the most challenging industrial jobs.

Word spread far and wide about the unbeatable quality and comfort of Herman Survivor® boots. Before long, Herman was receiving orders from across the country. The demand became so high that he moved operations to a larger factory, where production continues to this day.

Ready for the Work Site and Beyond

Over a century later, Herman Survivor® remains committed to handcrafting rugged American made work boots without cutting corners. While the materials and technology may have evolved with the times, the obsessive attention to detail and durability of those first boots has never wavered.

The Herman Survivor® line-up offers specialized footwear options for virtually every workplace application imaginable. Whether you’re logging long hours on oil rigs, patrolling dusty worksites, welding indoor metal structures or braving harsh winter weather, we have you covered.

While primarily geared for heavy industry use, our boots also transition seamlessly into everyday life. Their iconic styling and reliable performance make them a popular choice for casual settings when you want comfortable, supportive footwear that can still take a beating.

Herman Survivor® boots have even gained a cult following among outdoorsmen, who appreciate their rugged build and sure-footed grip navigating rough terrain during hunting, fishing and hiking excursions.
